International traveling is one experience that many desire and many find it to be fun and inspiring. From our past travel experiences, we noticed there are many inconveniences and problems especially if you are traveling alone.
According to the 2016 US travel data census, there is an estimate of 75.6 million international travel and 72.6 million international departure.
With that statistic, we wanted to conduct a research looking into the culture, habits and needs of international traveling. Through the findings, we wish to discover the needs and problems we have currently to create a better travel experience for the those who are needed it.
Research, Field Studies & Process
Based on the previous studies result, we learned that female travelers tend to travel more with a group because they are very concerned with their personal safety while being alone, which limited their opportunities to travel alone. For those females who do travel alone, they are lacking a convenient tool to assist that is able to solve all the travel problems we had discovered. Therefore, we want to design a travel service system that helps females who are traveling alone to have more confidence traveling alone and have a better experience. Our system will be able to assist the female traveler both digitally and physically.
Our service is aimed to prevent 5 problems in travel. Safety, Navigation, Losing Valuables, Robbing and Language Barrier.
